This week in COSS: Databricks raised $5 billion at a $190 billion valuation, Metriport secured $26 million in Series A financing, Stability AI closed a $76 million Series B, and W4 Games raised $18 million in Series B. In M&A news, Nvidia confirmed its $12.9 billion acquisition of Hugging Face, AWS completed its acquisition of DuckLabs while keeping DuckDB under the DuckDB Foundation, and MotherDuck acquired Tower Computing to develop data APIs and data-agent capabilities.
Other announcements include OpenClaw 2.0, the project’s largest update to date; Mistral AI’s strategic collaboration with HUMAIN on sovereign AI infrastructure, models, and Arabic-language frontier models; and OpenBB’s decision to shutter its business and open source its entire product suite under a permissive license. Together AI is partnering with HUMAIN for 250 megawatts of Saudi data-center capacity, while OpsMill is bringing the community-led Nornir network-automation project into the company with additional engineering, funding, and release support.
